How Fantasy Golf Works

Everything you need to know about how Fantasy Golf Majors works — from team selection to scoring.

Fantasy golf is simple: pick your squad, manage your budget, and let real tournament scores decide your fate. Unlike traditional fantasy sports where you track stats all season, Fantasy Golf Majors is focused on the four most prestigious events in golf — The Masters, US Open, The Open Championship, and PGA Championship.

Picking Your Team

Each participant selects 4 golfers before the tournament begins. You have a salary cap of 100 credits to spend. Players are priced based on their current world ranking — the top-ranked players cost the most, giving you a strategic decision: do you load up on elite talent, or find value picks lower in the rankings?

Daily Selections

Golf is played over four rounds (Thursday through Sunday). Your strategy unfolds across those four days:

- Thursday (Round 1): You activate 2 of your 4 golfers
- Friday (Round 2): The other 2 golfers play
- Saturday & Sunday: Pick any 2 from your roster each day

The Thursday/Friday rule creates the core strategic tension of the game. You must decide which players you trust for the opening rounds — and you can't repeat them.

The Captain Bonus

Before the tournament starts, you name one of your 4 players as captain and assign them to either Thursday or Friday. If your captain shoots even par or better on their assigned day, you earn a -3 stroke bonus — a massive advantage on the leaderboard.

Scoring

Scores are based on real golf results. Lower is better. If your active player shoots -2 on a round, you get -2. If they shoot +3, you get +3. The goal is the lowest total score across all four rounds.
